Primary 4 have had a busy week helping out the elves of the North Pole. It all started at the beginning of the week when we found a letter had been delivered asking for our help.
- Our first letter
- Testing our present trolleys
- Could we make it from the workshop…
- …to Santa’s sleigh?
- Our design brief said the trolley needed to carry at least 3 presents.
- Each table made a trolley.
- We thought they looked brilliant.
- We had to make sure they looked ‘Christmassy’!
- That they had four wheels.
- Part of the brief was that they had to be box shaped.
- One of them was suitable for transporting fragile items.
- Where is Billy Bells the Elf?
- In the freezer recharging his power after an overnight trip to the North Pole!
- He’s back with a letter!
- And a treat to say thank you – yummy!
- What do the elves have to say?
- Thank you!
We had lots of fun planning, designing and building our trolleys (so much fun we forgot to take any photos!) but if you ask us about it we would be more than happy to tell you. We had to cut our doweling to make the axles and measure them out to make sure the trolley would go in a straight line. Then each person designed one panel to go on the side of the trolley. Once they were all built we tested them out, everyone’s trolleys met the design brief and we enjoyed our thank you from the elves! Merry Christmas!
